Commercial Photographers – The Best of the Lot
Photography can be regarded as a profession or hobby, depending upon a person's interest and inclination towards the same. For many, it is just an obsession – get hold of a camera and start clicking pictures. However, many people have taken it as a passion and gone on to register their names in the list of illustrious photographers of all times.
In days when photography was not that commercialised, there were a few lensmen who left an indelible impression on society through their works. I would like to talk about three of my favourite commercial photographers here.
Irving Penn – This American fashion photographer made waves in the industry during the middle of the 20th century. Penn has covered a wide range of subjects in his pictures; and is regarded as one of the best photographers to have graced the team of Vogue, the world renowned fashion magazine.
Ansel Adams – A master with black and white pictures, this commercial photographer was an ardent environmentalist at heart. He has been presented with a number of awards for his works on wildlife and nature.
Henri Cartier-Bresson – An idol for photojournalists, this French photographer received international acclaim for his coverage of Mahatma Gandhi's funeral in India. His passion for creating visual sagas has influenced many all over the world.
